i hate to not have a search function on this thing anymore. I bought some of this stuff from a dealers recommendation and was wondering if its ok for knives.

For sharpening knives I wouldn't use it because I wouldn't want the moly clogging up the stone .For wiping the blade it's ok but everything it touches will become black. For lubing the hinge of a folder that's what it's designed for - lubing !

I've been trying to spread this tip around as much as possible. . . Go to Google and type in your search, followed by "site:bladeforums.com" and you can basically search bladeforums with Google. There's a ton of info in the archives, so most of the searches I do this way don't bring up many active threads, but that's no biggie if you're just looking for a bit of info. Hope this helps in the future.

What mete said. Better than graphite for lubing. Not good for sharpening stones.
