How can I sharpen my knife?

I don't really buy or look at machetes but I know most cleavers are still at least 56 HRC which is a big difference from 52 HRC
Hi,
Rocks dont much care if its 52HRC or 56 HRC and you're cutting using knife angles/thickness, it all goes dull pretty much instantly. If you're cutting wood or cardboard or food both 52/56HRC will last more than 5min. If they don't last 5min you forgot to remove burr (or angle is under 7dps ...)

Why teflon tape?
To help preserve the region of the binder clip which makes contact with the stone. Let me put it this way: You absolutely can use a binder clip as an edge guide, particularly if you are aware of its shortcomings. I will be sharpening a utility blade using a binder clip as an edge guide later tonight...

I will be using 3M Super 33+ vinyl tape in lieu of Teflon and grip tape. Utility blade was used to cut drywall earlier in the day (will be rinsed clean prior to sharpening). Progression will be SPS II #1000 to #6000...

Shortcomings of using a binder clip as an edge guide for a utility blade can all be overcome (more or less) save for the caveat that the lowest angle that can achieved is dependant upon the size of the clip itself. The lowest angle that I was able to record using a medium 5/8 clip hovered around 25 dps. One can also use an angle cube with a magnetic base as a combination handle and digital guide for utility blades...

A shim/spacer will get you a lower angle, cut one or three from flat plastic or Popsicle stick
