Hi, Folks!

Just curious as to where everyone heard about this?

Were you already a Bladeforums member?

Did you hear about it elsewhere on the Internet (Where?)?

From a friend/word of mouth?

Other?

Thanks to everyone for making this such a great forum!

Best,

Brian.

Heard about it from a friend on the internet from Texas with similar interests as myself. Great forum, btw.

I joined the forums about a month ago and saw the anouncement on the main page. Now I can't ever decide what forum to go to.

Brian Jones called me and asked if I'd co-moderate with Ron Hood. I called Ron and discussed it with him. It sounded like a great idea and am I am glad I said yes...I enjoy teaching and learning. I'd like to thank everyone who is participating. what a great group.

I actually lurked on Doc Ron's site several weeks before this forum was launched so I am glad it's one less place to site to surf to.

For years, week long solo backpacking trips in Spring and Fall (to avoid people) were my idea of vacation -- actually the only ones I could afford! Gave it up with the arrival of kids. Now, that my kids are older, I'll be heading out again this spring.

Getting pumped again with this forum.

I was getting on to sign off of the Primitive Skills Group mailing list (generated way too much useless jabber and arguments I didn't care about), when the last post I read was someone mentioning this forum. I recognized Ron and Greg's names as moderators so figured it would be good. So far, I've been right.

Just discovered the Blade Forum a few weeks ago while looking for information on the net on a couple of knives that I bought at a local gun show (a Hubertus lever lock and a Hugo Koller German-style folding bowie).

I've been a subscriber to American Survival Gun magazine for the past 10 years. I recognized Ron Hood's name right away, as I have enjoyed the articles that he and his wife have written for the magazine.

This is the first survival forum that I have found that I really enjoy. Keep it up guys !

Survival subjects have always interested me, even though I get little time to actually practice wilderness survival. But I do practice being prepared in whatever ways I can, especially at home, at work, and when traveling. My son is now a cub scout, so I am finding a use for some of my knowledge, and a way to acquire more knowledge; it will be interesting to see what other fathers know about being prepared!

Besides survival topics and knives, I enjoy firearms and airarms, and I'm an avid harmonica player and music lover. I also enjoy model O-gauge trains.

I have added the Blades Forums to my favorite websites which are:

Hi, Folks!

Thanks for replying -- it'll help us determine where to find more people who have the same interests as the rest of us here!

I'd love for all the participants and lurkers on this forum to pop in here with their answers -- can be one word, one line -- anything...

Thanks again!

Brian.

I saw the announcement in the General forum and came to check it out.

Very good stuff here.

I was talked into joining by one of the moderators (Alan Folts). While browsing here one day I spied a link to Greg Davenports website and joined their forum. Now I can work both forums in one convenient place.

Barry,

Cool! People ask me if we're related...

I happened to have just looked at the photos of your knives, and they looked great, so I told them, "maybe distant relatives..."

hee hee...

Brian.

I saw the posting for Wilderness Forums and knew more time would be spent in Bladeforums. Running around in the woods is my favorite subject and hobby. I am very interested in others' experiences, skills and the common-sense approach of all.
I can't wait 'til next year to try out the tips and tricks I've already picked up. This time I won't have to wear all my Battle Rattle and go with a battle buddy, my wife, I can tolerate. Spooning is much more fun now. Oh yeah, and my attack poodle.
