How do you "fix" the blade detent?

I have a Benchmade Vex that is nice but it requires too much force to open the blade against the detent. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

My first thought is to fill the detent hole with epoxy or lead to reduce the depth the detent plunges into the blade.

I am very open to suggestions.

By the way, are these hard detents the equivalent of lawyer-legal triggers on pistols?
