How do you lube your tool ?? :D

I occasionally go camping and find that I use the knife implement on my SAKs to cut up food. I there a lube available that isn't toxic?

Currently, I lube with WD-40 and wash the knife with soap and water before using it on foods. I was wondering if there was something that would make it more convenient to use the knife. Thanks.
 
I spray mine down with brake cleaner to clean off the crud and fluids from working on heavy equiptment then spray it down with what ever spray lube or rust penatrant is handy. Then a quick wipe down with a rag. Works for me for years now with a whole bunch of multi tools.
 
Gun oil works fine. I use Tetra lube on non stanless blades and CR grease when I break down a Sebenza.
