Hey guys, so I’m new here, but been forging, and making knives for about 6 years now, and built everything I use so far. Forge, grinder etc… I’m currently working on a HT oven, and ran across this thread. I already have the main chamber built with the top being removable an all from 3” thick IFB(2300) Inside dimensions are 10”wide/6.5”high/22.5 deep. I have two sheets of 3/4” thick fiber board, and was considering adding it to the top, and bottom only, and was hoping for some input on this idea. At first I was just going to line te top just because I was a little concerned about the strength of my mortar especially when it gets to temp, and cools. I used the black rutlands, wet the brick, and clamped them to dry for a week just to be sure. I also notched all my the brick tongue and groove style with pretty tight tolerance. I’m just not sure about how much the brick will expand and contract since this is my first HT oven build. Any thoughts/advice/criticism is appreciated. Apologies for the short story
