Ok, well I swapped out my thumbstud for the stud off of my CRKT Mirage. (Not as easy as it sounds) The CRKT thumbstud needs to be drilled so that the screw sits lower. This will let the screw reach across the length of the SERE's thicker blade.
Also retro-fitting the SERE stud onto my Mirage was a pain. That story is available upon request.
Secondly, I did a little Dremel drill file-work on the back of the thumb ramp for more positive thumb traction. I also did similar texturing on the liner lock to take the sharp edge off, and to improve lock location by touch.
Anyway, I couldnt be happier with the way it turned out. The thumb stud feels so...NORMAL!!! Hope you guys like it.
