I'm confused- HEST folder models

If this helps. THere are THREE (3) DPx HEST/F versions. The regular production model you buy from dealers and two versions that are for certain folks.

The production model is bullseye in the center of the DPx Gear feel. Old school, hard core and heirloom quality. The physical material is identical on all three knives. but the finish and goodies are different between the production and First Run models.

Production has Olive Drab G10 and flat black Milspec coating and its sold by dealers.
The numbered versions come in MR DP (for fans and collectors) and sterile (for people who like simple clean black knives) The coating on the blade is different, the tool is different and you are only going to see 250 on them on this planet. And they come in left and right so that means that there are very, very few left hand Mr DPs and lots of right hand steriles. Also the goodies are cool. I won't spill the beans yet but two of the goodies messed up our Xmas delivery date on the LE. Which is fine cuz the wait is worth it. One was a very special SAS survival tin and another was a titanium bead for the lanyard.

But back to the question. The numbered versions have black G10 and an awesome Titanium Carbo Nitride coating over D2 tool steel which is pretty top of the line when it comes to cutting and hardness. The regular edition is milspec phosphate coating and a different color G10 which is meant to look when ridden hard and put away wet.

Also the skull tool is different on the regular edition vs the limited edition. We will be making a different tool for each run of knife...just for the heck of it. Some of these tools go for 100 bucks ...without a knife. The limited edition rocks a bead blasted titanium and the regular production has a stainless steel skull tool.

But the point is people who want something that is both collectible and functional go for the limited edition and those who are going to work this knife to death go for the production model. And then there is the DPx Gear Gun Club :))

Hope that helps.
