Is my D.P.S. 15 Damascus steel Stretch 2 xl prone to corrosion?

I received my first Damascus steel knife today. I am curious to know if i should keep it lightly oiled. I am within 7 miles of the Atlantic ocean.
I know that I do not have to worry about the VG-10 core. I can't take pictures to save my life, but here it is.

I have a few Damascus Spydies and I've never seen any sign of rust on mine with little or no care, but I live 1700 miles from the Atlantic.
