I have always had my leather sheaths dry out or rot. Is there any type of treatment for a leather sheath?

Does it penetrate well? My sheath will be around alot of moisture.

Yes, it penetrates very well, and allows the leather to "breathe" at the same time.
It's been used as a protectant for leather against moisture for many, many years.

Be sure to get the "real" stuff, though.
Check the label of the product you're buying.
Lots of companies are selling "mink oil" which is mostly silicone (and various other ingredients).
Some, in fact, don't contain any mink oil at all.

+3 on Sno-Seal. I've heard good things about Montana Pitch Blend, but I haven't actually used it.

Take it from a guy who is starting on his 4th season of glove repair for a State Championship high school baseball Team. Get some Lexol from any auto parts store. I use the Lexol spray on conditioner, and on really dirty gloves I use the Lexol spray on cleaner as well.

No leather gets abused worse than baseball gloves. They get wet, they dry out, they get sweated in, dirty, etc... Lexol does a good job of keeping it right without making it too heavy or weakening the leather.

Get some Lexol

Lexol's some good stuff that's also been around a long time.

Never tried Sno-Seal, but it looks really good as well. Seems to be largely beeswax.

Montana Pitch Blend (mentioned above) is a combination of mink oil, beeswax, and pine pitch.

I'll throw another one in the mix - Fiebing's Aussie Leather Conditioner. It's similar to Sno-Seal, but with a different consistency (I like Sno-Seal, too).
