You guys are funny. Of course, that's what I saw too. The seller had all the loose stuff in a bucket, and I looked down and said, "Oh look a Craftsman hatchet.". because Craftsman is the only company with a head that shape. With hardened poll of course. There is something very right, or very wrong with us.

Didn’t find any steel yesterday but I did stop by an army surplus store and found four 28” straight handles with pretty nice grain for chopping tools. They have full-sized eyes but whittle down to Boy’s axe size pretty well.

I also had two “German” style 31" surplus handles show up. Maybe use one to hang an axe that takes that eye shape and one to use as a template.

Got these today. A Plumb Victory head, a couple Connies, a Norlund, an E&S and a Woodings-Verona. The left most Connie is very cool. No visible marks, but old hand forged with an inserted bit.
