It's Old Timer time, fellas: Show your U.S.-made OTs

That’s basically an 882Y with black handles instead of yellow. I don’t recall seeing a black one in catalog.
Paul, I could not find one either. The number should be 882BL, based on their use of BL for black plastic handles, according to the catalogs.
Thanks for looking into that, Fellas!! I haven't seen another since I found it (can't remember where!!)

I really love these knives. It's really a pity that they are so hard to fin here 😪

You are amassing a nice collection, J-M!!

Since everyone should have an 8ot, I figured it was time to give it a shot!

Except ... TheChunk91 TheChunk91 seems to have already bought them all .... 😁. J/k

I did find one suitable for me though. It's been used and carried and someone loved it and it shows, but it's not too far gone. Still lots of life left. Not too nice where I wouldn't use it (I have a weird thing with old knives) IMG_20240105_143832456~2.jpgBlades are very dark. A little oil brought the snap right back to it. So far I like it. It has NY USA so I've gathered that makes it a bit older. Still not sure.on that one.

Sir - how do you sharpen? I always admire the beautiful even edges on the knives you display. I have been freehand sharpening for a long time, and get 'em sharp - but never as pretty as yours.....

Thank you. I mostly use an edge pro apex, it’s an excellent consistent angle sharpener. Occasionally I’ll use a lansky which is also very consistent.

I also freehand sharpen and can get them plenty sharp, but not quite as pretty as with the consistent angle sharpeners.
