A very lucky dip today! :) I always enjoy carrying the #25s, and this one, in GEC's Unicorn Ivory Micarta, was gifted to me in Sheffield by my good friend btb01 btb01 :) It's a reminder of a very happy day  Barrett picked up 3 of these, still has one, and generously gifted the other to Jolipapa Jolipapa . so it makes me think of Alain too :)

Ran (hobbled!) out for a haircut, almost forgot a knife!! Managed to grab this one sitting by the computer!! Early Scagel Repro, commissioned from Queen by Dave Shirley of Northwoods fame! I almost forgot how great these are - firm spring, sunk joint, good stag and great steel! This sucker will shave a wild Boar!!
Edge courtesy of Rob at Apostle P!! Turquoise courtesy of Kingman Mine, Arizona!
Old Chevron beads from Venice!!

If that's an early one, Dave Shirley swore he made those in his "factory" in Michigan. He was cagey when it came to the parts manufacturer but for that early model claimed it was by him. IIRC he said it in a Knife World interview and online in the old Knifeforums. He originally had all his folding knives made by Queen, then he claimed he was making them, and then it was a combination of Queen parts and his construction, then some Queen parts and construction and then all Queen again.

Do you know for sure it was Queen? I believe I have the same knife and it's put together kind of wonky, worse than Queen, so I thought it was probably made by him after a few beers :) I like the knife, its got character it's just a gap-tooth girl :)

Mine has a crack at a pin, but it's never gotten any larger. To me it was a good lesson in how a knife can be charming due to its flaws, and expensive knives can be fun even when imperfect...like a spouse :)

I don't often carry a Pruner, but Lady Luck sent this old Richartz my way today ;) The 'Whale' stamp always makes me smile :D Looks like this one was produced between the wars, when 'Foreign' knives, sold better here than 'German' knives
