Jack's Random Tuesday Carry

Another of this sort. They must have been very popular for me to have come across so many of them. And less popular in the days when I got them cheap enough for me.
The handle looks like Kabar, but the blade is unmarked. Somebody may have replaced the sheath. I don't remember why it seemed a good idea to dip it in white paint. Sealing the tang against moisture, probably, and maybe I happened to be painting something at the time.

I've cleaned it up and sharpened it since I took this picture.
White paint seems to be a popular handle option Jer, just about every old Bex Lamb or WW2 clasp knife I pick up has some 😖 :D👍

I've a feeling this is the second time this Keen Kutter Barlow, recently gifted to me, along with a bunch of other fine vintage Barlows, by Dwight Fodderwing Fodderwing , has been my Random Tuesday pick, but I guess that's how the dice roll :D I'm certainly not complaining :)

How do you make it random Jack?

Do you close your eyes and stick your hand in a pile of knives?

If so thats every safety warning given as a child out the window.

What next licking the knife blade (I do that,my toungue is half size nowadays). 😁

Pretty much mate! 😁 Most of my knives are either in drawers, or in cigar boxes, with others in individual padded cases, so I just close my eyes, and pick a drawer, or open a box, and pick one out 😀👍

Thanks! I have a handful of Kutmaster Barlows, which I think Utica did very well. This is one of the two with bone handles. The other needs to lose its pen blade and main spring. Sometime when I have a clear surface and feel skillful.
Nice Jer, Campbellclanman Campbellclanman gave me a nice old Barlow when he was visiting, they're surprisingly rare here 👍

How disappointing. I figured at the very least you had a random knife generator.

I was looking for that Colonial utility I cleaned up a week or so ago.

I thought all my Camillus utilities had the short screwdeiver I disprefer. Nope.

Happy pick Jer 😎👍
I find this Camillus 822 Silver Sword pretty random:

I would start a thread for “Ugly Traditional Knives of the 80’s and 90’s”, but I think this would be my only example.
I reckon I probably have a few drinkers Tom! 🤣👍

Nameless Solingen from the longish-gone Otsego antique mall.

Someone seems to have used this long enough to wear most of the black finish off the blades.
Interesting knife.
I just pulled up an ad for Victoria jnox knives. It went on to say company is now known as Victorinox of Switzerland.

I always take these statements with a grain of salt.il_fullxfull.2056810680_o6d8.jpg
