Dear Jerry:
I am planning a secluded backpacking/fishing trip into a remote area of Alaska next year. Which one of your knives do you recommend? I have been looking at the Basic 7 & 9, the Steel Heart and the Battle Mistress. I will be carring a Rucksack SAK and a 3" blade by Bob Dozier ( His Companion knife ).
Price does matter, but, on a trip like this, I am willing to spend a little more to pick the right knife.
How much better do the 9-1/2" blades chop in comparision to the 7-1/2" blades?
Do you think the versitility of the smaller blades makes them a better pick than the larger blades?
Thanks for your help.
By the way, If anybody else has a lot of outdoor experience with these knives, please give me your 2 cents.
