A couple "new to me" Lloyds.

The first one is definitely a working knife, and is not afraid to get dirty. Already has the scars to prove it. I cleaned it up just a bit...

This other one is a swell center, and may just be the nicest Lloyd I have. It's CPM154. That stag is FIRE!

I really appreciate the aesthetics and weight saving nature of a shadow pattern these days, and John is a master of the art and skill to do it right, even with hard to work mammoth ivory.

I think I will slip this one in a vest pocket for Church carry in this morning.

Does anyone know of other makers that use a fish shield?

This one ,I'm excited about . I am about to go out to take a new set of pics as they didn't come out to good first shot. Anyhow 3-3/8" closed,A2 blade . John calls it a " cutter" and since I have no other name and it sounds good ,I'll call it the Cutter . I'll have a few more of these in this week. Now this knife is perfect for EDC ,it's size ,and really ,this blade will give any warncliffe a run for the money as the tip will be much stronger . Way to go John !

A fantastic slimline trapper ,this one has 52100 I will have to retake pics to capture the shield ,it is white G3 fiberglass ,has like a texture look to it . Tricky to capture ,and the vintage rag at the same time

Shadow patterns have one drawback. A bolster protects those sweet covers when dropped on concrete. I know that from experience. The crack can readily go to a pin. That's happened to me as well. Part of life w/o bolsters :). With a bolster, when hitting concrete it gets marred, but doesn't hurt the knife's integrity and can be buffed to make it less noticible.

A John Lloyd 3-3/4” A2 in mammoth ivory. I got it in Saturday from VCM3, and I’m so excited. I love the smooth covers, and the tight slipjoint. And it is frighteningly sharp.

Vince honed it and oiled it, but left it otherwise exactly as John Lloyd shipped it out. The price was fair and it only took 2 days to arrive in CO via priority mail.

This one is certainly my favorite traditional knife, with a close second being my rare GEC gator bone #73 trapper (about the same size).
