Just bumped the "ViKtim" thread in passaround.

It sure did take a lickin! I am still amazed when I think back about how tough that knife was.

Here for what its worth are pictures of ViKtim #1 in Walnut and the latest (last?) ViKtim is Osage Orange as well as ViKtim #9 in Tiger Maple. As you can see, ViKtims #1 and #9 have seen plenty of use, but are still looking great. Enjoy!

I just read through that again, what a beating that knife took. Just confirms the fine work that John does on his knives!

I poked around a bit, unfortunately many of the pics are gone but you still get the feeling that it was well used. Also goes to show that you don't need 1/4" steel for very durable, hard use knife.

ViKtim Update: The slightly more slender/pointy-er Osage ViKtim still going strong as my first choice for daily truck carry, while the more humped Tiger Maple Viktim (#9) rules the garden and woodlot roost. Walnut Viktim (#1) is in well-deserved semi-retirement on my work desk. All three have slightly modified and finished ("personalized") handles and sheaths - I still love the design and feel of the ViKtim, and think it was one of John's best (I keep his Kepharts in the kitchen and in my day hike pack).
