Off Topic Just 'cause there's pics , don't necessarily mean it happened as claimed ! Or at all . So why do you all say that " Pics or didn't happen " ?

Photos and even videos , especially in this digital age , are not good evidence / proof of anything , really .

If the intent is to deceive , defraud , or simply disinform ...it's easy to do so with digital media .

Sometimes all that's needed is to supply a bogus explanation with a genuine photo . The power of suggestion does the rest .

Photos can be misleading , even unintentionally , if the photographer isn't careful .

So , if I don't trust the source already , I wouldn't put too much weight on a photo to change my mind .

Why would you ??? o_O

Or maybe this expression is just a way of asking for pics ?

I understand that . Pics are cool . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Because most people won't break an expensive blade for the lolz. And if someone is claiming that a blade broke, photographic evidence goes a long way to proving that. But it can also trick up someone who is trying to lie if someone else notices something fishy. Is it perfect? No. But it gets you a lot closer to the truth than a story alone.

Part of it is some boisterous claims ...

OP: "I know a lot about knives, I own a few hundred."
BF: "Oooo can we see a pic of your knives?"

OP :" I built a log cabin with my Mtech, you don't need good steel."
BF :"Oooo can we see some pics/video of you batoning a log with your Mtech?"

*crickets*

and sometimes it just gets thrown out there along with ....

smatchet

will it baton?

Yes, sadly.

In a lot of threads started resently a pic would've helped the OP a lot with credability.

Of course the OP could copy some random pics he found on the web, but then he risks getting caught doing so an REALLY loose his creds in here..

Bro you got trust issues.

Just want more pics because we love them. I didn’t think there was anything nefarious in the comment. I can see where people need proof because they are skeptical. Recently I saw some fixed blades that were up for sale with pics, it just gave the feeling of something fishy. So in that case, with other little bits of skepticism, I would want more pics.

What does this have to do with knives?

So, every time you, ken, lasador, or the weird blunt knife guy get upset about something in a thread, you gonna start a new one on that topic? Seems tiresome but it's fun to watch! Carry on
