I've often told not to expect a gem in every person. A stone is a fair expectation. Throw it as a stone is easier, but take it to polish the gem inside... I still believe in the old proverb, originally made of five syllables. Anyways I myself could be wrong at any time.

Hey making a bet is a good idea. They'd probably end up backing out like the people you mentioned. 2000 years!? Never realized it's been around that long, like my dad used to say, there's a reason certain things become traditional....WrongFriend is right about not finding a gem in everyone, but hey that's life.
 
If you believe that the kopis was the grand daddy of the khukuri it's been around even longer.
