This thing has been lying around on the bench for
3 or 4 months. Was playin with a finish today, what
do y`all think

I remember when the zebra stripe discussion started. It is pretty neat Sylvester but the knife is so well ground and shaped the stripes seem to take something away.

Thanks guys
Dave it`s just some old 3/16 L6, blade is 7in
OAL is ahair over 12in. an blade width is 1 3/8.
Sorry no other colors it was just soaked in acid.

Peter,( so well ground and shaped ) a big thanks.
Yeah, I think you`re right, but it`s for a buddy.
He wants something to go with his FAL. Like I said
just playin around it may not stay this way

Tom, noting special just a felt marker for
the lines(bright spots) then soaked in acid for
20 minutes or so. The type from Radio Shack

COOL!!!:D
I have been wanting to try and make damascus have a pattern turn out something like that without the resist:cool:
You can use fingernail polish as the resist to do something like this also.
Bruce

Thanks guys.
Bruce the wife don`t let me near her fingernail
polish an we`ll not go down that trail as to why:rolleyes:

Damascus like that would be cool

Just go to Wallyworld and buy a cheap bottle of Black polish. The ladies don't usually like that anyway. But it looks like you got a good clean resist with the felt pen anyway.:D
Bruce

Cool Pattern. I didnt know a felt pen would resist acid so well.

How did you ever come up with the pattern for the hole drilling? The big holes are a b--ych to drill. Why are they so close to the top? How are you going to attach the scales?

Bump the pattern for the holes is called,
late at nite f---k up. You
know like when you don`t feel well an you
got up like 3:00am that day an now it`s
1:00am the next morin:(

My mother never let me stay up late. Now I understand her way of thinking. I should show her your handle and give her your email address. She is a good Mom.
