True, the Pocket Hobbit is ugly. But days when you can't slip a BAS into your jeans you can get nearly the reaction from people with it as the BAS. People may not understand the design features, but they can intuit that they were put there for nasty purposes.

PS: days when I carry the Hobbit I also carry a Schrade Old Timer slipjoint with 2" +/- in the other pocket for opening letters down to the Post Office.
