Kershaw Bareknuckle Damascus !! 7777DAM

Heard 2 things about this knife that has me hesitant. Strong detent and slightest lock bar pressure ruins opening it. Any of that true? Really like the idea of m390 one.

I've heard mixed reviews on this as we have seen here. I read somewhere that the issue was more prevalent on the first models. So, hopefully they have any kinks worked out. It's a great looking and affordable piece from the USA. I'm a fan.

One retailer out there has exclusive blackout and black/stonewash 20cv Bareknuckles right now.

I didn't see them on the approved list, so I took their name out... Lol

Thanks for the heads up! Hadnt heard about this until now but just grabbed one in 20cv! I like my original model in sandvik and think the bareknuckle is one of the nicest Kershaws out right now so adding another in 20cv is awesome and under 100 bucks!

The detent on my Bareknuckle is VERY strong which makes the knife difficult to open. Like the knife but not the detent.

I bought one of the 1st sold, so things may have changed after early complaints about the detent were noted and resolved by Kershaw.

There's a way to "fix" it but it's not that important for me to bother with.

all my bareknuckles are perfect detent and lockbar are just amazing

Do you know if the 20cv Blackout model is actual DLC, or a lesser PVD?

they definitely fixed their quality issues . i bought and returned an early bareknuckle .. these new ones flip just as good as a ZT 0450 you can flip em open and closed all day like a fidget toy

In the mail. Thanks! I had an early model with a hard detent, but could definitely see the potential. Hopefully this one is better.

Well I received my blackout bareknuckle today and I have to say the detent is really good! Not overly stiff, and flips great. Could be a tad stiffer, but it's almost perfect. Little dab of oil in the detent hole and it drops shut easily. Was a bit rough and gritty out of the box.

But it's going back. The blade is warped and it's very noticeable. I thought at first the blade was just a hair off center like my original bareknuckle. After checking it over and looking at different angles and getting a straight edge up to it... Its warping to the left when looking from the butt of the handle. Looks worse when looking at the edge from the same angle. Unacceptable. Hopefully I can get a good replacement because I really like the blackout style and there's almost no need to break it in or tune it. Just a drop of oil for smooth action.

OH well... Was really hoping to put it to work.

Well, in that case, I may just send my Bareknuckle back for modification (or exchange) under Kershaw's limited lifetime warranty. Not that big a deal to me since I hardly ever carry it but, since I hardly carry it, I won't miss it while it's gone. ;)

And hopefully I'll get a better version of the knife when it comes back.
