Don how much would scales be with a group order roughly? i guess there would be a price range based on scale material of course.
If that group order is going to happen please pm. if i have not brought the knife yet, i will order one knife to go with new scales. then decide if i will get another 1 for back up. thx.

Hey man, I'll answer for Don. That group purchase mention was me being flippant. Don is under no compunction to set anything like that up, and my comments shouldn't be taken as anything than that, my comments. I don't want a vendor of ours feeling pressured to provide something because of an offhand comment I made.

Don, sorry about that, man.

Some impressions from today: The Strobe is a nice little work-horse...
I had to install about 13 articulating computer arms ( for holding screen and keyboard ) and I used the Strobe to brake the boxes down when I got the arms out...

Blade sharpness was fine while I was cutting the cardboard, blade became dirty from the tape the boxes had on it but was cutting easily.
When I tried to cut paper at home, it didn't do it. I noticed shiny areas on the cutting edge in the part most used.
Tried to strop it, it brought the sharpness back on the non-damaged part of the blade, but the shiny area needed sharpening, which I'll do tomorrow.

The blade after I was done working.

Just as I do with my guns when I get a new-one, today, before I put it to work, I disassembled the knife and cleaned it and lubed it.
Nice, clean design, crappy thread lock, I did clean the screws and applied little bit of the blue Loctite.

I was surprised to see absolutely no traces of fitting on the liner lock, it looked just as the press cut it off.
Not necessarily a bad thing, the lockup is just fine, early and solid, I have no complaints about it, but I would expect some fitting...

The corresponding blade part looks also bad, but as long as it works, I don't care, it's a $37 knife, I cannot expect Sebenza quality.
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, the knife is little bit on the smaller side for me, but will definitely see a lot of pocket time and use... :D

Thanks for the pictures of the Strobe in action and the disassembled shots. Looks like Kershaw is taking a new approach to the lock interface - just make it chunky, doesn't matter if the angles aren't there - so long as it engages it will wear itself in nicely.

Looking forward to getting one of these, I really like the look of it.

Fitting is on the blade tang usually. The lock face is square and the tang is angled.

OK, probably I didn't express myself as I had to...
I meant that there is no traces of doing anything to that metal after the press cut it off... I do have other small knifes, same price range that show some cleaning or flattening of the square area...
The blade site was angled, I didn't take a picture of it because I was in a rush and forgot, but it is ugly, with nasty burr form a grinder or whatever they were using for it...
As I said - it doesn't bother me because the lockup is very solid, all I'm saying is that I would expect better looking parts there, even for $37 Chinese made knife...
