Khukhri reviews - why I wont buy production versions

I love mine :)

After testing they simply function better, cut faster, and are balanced to ensure full deep cuts upon use.

(And my ex ghurka house one as well)

Nothing like real quality individually made awesomeness

I love my khukhris and if I carry one, it will always be an Ex Gurkha House fighting knife - or working blade from Himalayan imports. :)
On the right is himalayan imports and left is ex ghurka house - both function amazingly and compared to other knock offs from stamped out production types like cold steel and fox make my friends (who own those) very very jealous!

It also helps that the cost of these individually made gems are far far less cost then the stamped out remakes, each of them has character that you wont find in fox or cold steel versions.

I agree with you.I personally don't see a reasonable to buy imitation of Khukuri, when you can for same or even lesser price buy an original genuine made one in Nepal.Although khukuries have different styles and shapes each influenced from different place of origin or timeline of history, one shall consider before purchase according to what he/she will use this for,if the blade should be used fully and not only collectors item. These blades are simply wicked and very interesting topic.

Yes, I owned a fox and a cold steel- and never will again. They sucked, NOW the Fox Karambit is an amazing tool and I have dozens of variations of the karambit - from Philippine made through murikan made. It is essential to understand that MOST if not ALL of murikan made large blades are actually now made in Taiwan or China. INCLUDING Cold Steel!

Fox Knives has several Kukris made in Italy. At the higher end they have the Extreme Tactical Kukri which uses N690 stainless steel, Forprene handle and nylon sheath. It's smaller (9" blade) and lighter (14-15 ounces) than traditional Kukris and comes in two blade tips and coatings (black or bronze). Those that I know who have it are very happy with it.

They may be well functional, but how is their price tag standing it's ground against genuine Nepalese blades is the question

Is there a reason you are posting this? Did something happen? I don't see much of a review, just a commentary. I agree with you about Himalayan Imports.

Y can't he? is there a reason for u being rude? No... I didnt think so.

These are cool. Doubtless that these are awesome blades, but I still prefer modern materials and manufacturing methods for this sort of tool. For now, i'll stick with my USA-made, powder coated Carbon V CS GK. Perhaps in time my opinion will change, and I will have a hankering for a traditional kukri.
