Kiln Conversion

Thanks again everyone for the awesome information and resources. I just got a package today with the majority of the components of the box and I'll be working on the wiring soon.

Stacy, you mentioned the 1/8" rod for holding the knives. I found an 1/8" stainless zinc coated rod at Lowe's, will this do the trick? Since I'm new to metallurgy in general I want to make sure I'm not sticking things in my kiln that I shouldn't.

Do not use plated components inside your kiln. Zinc/cadmium/other plating materials can give off noxious fumes at certain temperatures.

I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me in this thread again. The box is complete and I just plugged the kiln into it. Everything powered up nicely. Now I have to learn how to program this little contraption so I can test how well it works. I am close to my first heat treat!
