Can some one clarify what hard use would be ?
Cutting bananas, I imagine!
Okay, okay. We've never really had a clear line where "normal" stops, and "hard" starts. Mostly it's been "you know it when you see it".
I would say that if you're cutting something which the world of construction has a specialized tool which will do the job faster and easier, you may be experiencing "hard use". But it's a general guideline, not a rule: corrugated cardboard will test the ergonomics, edge retention, and edge geometry of your knife, but it's not really hard use.
Woord carving with a folder, on the other hand, probably verges into hard use territory.
