King stones for a straight

People generally use 1200/6000, but 1200/8000 should be adequate.
King is a good brand.
 
I shave with straights, and when it's time to freshen a dull blade up I use a norton 4/8 combo stone in a pyramid honing fashion. You do not need alot of strokes to bring back an edge on dull razor. Technique is paramont. You must maintain full contact (spine/edge) throughout the entire session with nothing more than enough pressure to keep the razor flat on your hone. If you want to you can finish with pasted strops of 1 and .5 micron for that extra smooth shave. You can order all these supplies at www.classicshaving.com
