To start, I love the original Velox 2 - the feel in hand, the action, and blade grind are phenomenal. I tend to like smaller knives (2.5-3" blades), and have been realizing that most of my 3+ blade folders have been sitting around unused. Rather than put em on the exchange, I've been modding them into mini versions that will get more use. Most have been Spydercos (Domino, PM2, Southard), but now my Velox 2 hit the chopping block.
1. Chopped down blade and handle by roughly 1/2" ea.
2. Modded blade shape into sheepsfoot hybrid.
3. Rounded off the cuts with a belt sander.
4. Still waiting on tap to arrive to install pocket clip.
Here are some pics documenting the process, plus final version:

Nice man! I would love to see some pics of your other mods, especially the PM2!

Nice idea. You keep the handle fit for comfort and adjust the blade length to a more user friendly size. Cool!

I'd love to try something like this. What tools do you use for this? Do you have a link to a thread showing your other modifications?

Those are some hardcore mods.
I've broken tips and had to reshape but cutting them off; and the scales; impressive.

How do you keep the blade cool when cutting the steel? Just frequent dunking?
