Not bad :)
Nice! Is that typical? I like the look of the Seikos but the plus/minus 10-20 seconds per day (or whatever it is) spec has kept me from pulling the trigger on one of their automatics.

The two Solar watches on the right are just as accurate as Quarz watches, of course.

The Automatic on the left is a customized SKX007 (7S26 movement, Saphire replacements and different hands) that I bought on ebay in 2023. Easily within 10 sec per week, so I think I'm very lucky. Not a watch expert, so not sure if this is typical or not. Also, being a bit far sighted, of the 3 watches it's the only one that I can read the date from without glasses.

it's truly hit and miss. i have seiko autos that keep near perfect time. some that run super slow and some that run super fast. it's all over the map.

Agree! This “Blue Hole” is super accurate but power reserve is +/- 24 hours. Great summertime do anything watch. Probably needs a service but when I’m wearing it every day it keeps time on par w my iPhone.IMG_4329.jpeg

I’ve got a lot of autos and can honestly say I’ve never measured a single one for accuracy. 20 seconds a day is nothing IMO. It would take about 5 seconds to correct that every few days if it was a issue

Honestly, I don't know why high-end quartz movements don't get more love in the watch world. They can be insanely accurate - much more so than most mechnicals. And if you're someone who appreciates the complexity and precision required in higher end watch movements, then they are interesting from that perspective as well. But I stopped expecting logic out of the watch-nerd world a long time ago.

With the Seikos I never really noticed a problem. Let it go a week and then adjust it on a sunday or something if needed. Usually if you wear the same watch daily you just get used to how it acts. If you are like me and change up all the time it doesn't matter at all.

The Mrs wears an srpe and resets the time to her work timeclock every week or two.

You don't even need a high end quartz for it to be spot on. Ecodrive, Seiko solar, whatever is in a Casio GA2100, I've never had to reset any of them except for daylight savings.

I'm patiently waiting for a Seiko solar orange monster. Don't think it'll ever happen, but there is always hope. Maybe Islander will make a quartz orange monster first. Lol.

If you need such high accuracy where 20 seconds a day is not close enough for whatever you need, you shouldn't be messing around with mechanical watches anyways. Wrong tool for the job. In my opinion.

Think about the people who carried around Ingersoll or westclox dollar watches for years and years. Those things were off minutes a day and they sold millions of them. Just as an example I guess.

Plus with Solar + Quartz now you never have to open a watch, and it’ll remain waterproof.

I’ve fallen hard for the seiko king turtles. Love the look but more than anything they wear so comfortably. And pretty good price point to get sapphire and a ceramic bezel. I’ve been considering selling the rest cause I haven’t worn anything but my two turtles since I got em.

They also keep the best time of all my autos. I was actually gaining about a minute and a half a month. Though the one I’m currently wearing has been running super fast the past week. Not sure why.

Correction. Wasn't sure, so I measured. This was last Thu (3 sec slow?):

This is today (15 sec slow), no adjustment in 5 days:

So, she's slow by about 2-3 sec per day. Still pretty good, much better than spec, IMO.

My PO is on my wrist now. Mine is black but the orange is epic.
I have a handful of watches and the planet ocean is top one or two that get worn regularly
It’s funny, I would have chosen the black myself but got an absolute steal on this one as a used piece missing the original box, papers and bracelet. It’s turned into an absolute strap monster and one of my all time favorites!
