I've bought some inexpensive boxes for eyeglasses from Amazon. They work fine for folding knives, but your boxes look considerably better.

Love the wooden boxes. They look great.

I also like Another Shepherd's idea for cheap storage. I had been looking at tackle boxes. I found one from Plano, but no one has it in stock at a price comparable to other Plano models of the same size.

I "only" have 10 folders right now. "Only" in the sense that normal people think I am crazy. And "only" in the sense that some folks here would say "Bless your heart. You are a beginner, aren't you?"

This is a burgundy, six-layer (took off the hidden top layer to make the main one bigger/more accommodating, like for knives that can't fit in the drawers, like SAKs over three layers, (wish you all could see the white Willow Grouse Explorer near the purp micarta up there, gonna turn the Espada L red, too.)


Each drawer has a theme of sorts, the first one being my favorite to grabs at the moment (XL Espada doesn't fit, only L or Voyager XL)

These being general no-nonsense, working knives - RAT, GRIK, Cricket, Dodo... with some tight EDC like Chap and Native 5. Sage 5 and Para 3 4V belong here.

Traditional patterns.... cotton sampler, lots of designs from the 1860-1930s period but some designs as late as the 50s or 60s.

My most practical drawer - Reverse S's on rings and waved Janich Wharncliffes. Good selection though, from the 20CV Yojimbo 2 to the Cruwear, and the Yurco Jandura in the base VG10, you can cut with this shape in all situations.


My Swiss Army collection. Most of it, bigger ones in the top tier.

Those are absolutely beautiful! As a woodworker I have to ask if you've considered dovetailing the boxes? It would add a measure a strength and visual depth. You've obviously got the eye and skills to match!

I do dovetail some of my boxes - just not these. I made these to look like Gerstner tool boxes. I I handle the strength issue with dominos (mortise and loose tenons.

Making things for personal use, relatives and friends takes up all of my free time. I don't think I have time to make any for sale.
