knife ID required

Hi,

I am considering getting the knife below in trade and this might be my first fiddleback forge knife. Could anyone please help me to ID the knife and perhaps a link to the specs or a review video?

Looks like a Bushfinger. Can’t tell the OAL. Could be a hunter. Did they indicate the OAL?

No. Stated that it is Bushcrafter, but I checked the website and it does not look like a Bushcrafter.

It is not a Bushcrafter. My guess is it is the Bushfinger. The BF is 8.5” and has a 4” blade. It is a very popular Fiddleback Forge knife. You can’t go wrong with that. Plus it looks like bloodwood. Looks like old school fiddleback O1 tool steel. My guess is 5/32” stock. JRE sheath and custom ferro rod.

The seller says it is rosewood and made of A2 steel.

Nice knife anyway! But would really prefer it to be in A2 rather than O1. I have a few O1, it would be good to have a knife in A2 to see what its like

The grind looks like a saber to me. Are they slicy knives? What I do not like in a knife is a thick grind.

Never know though. I have some guarded turned guardless knives. LOL. I definitely thought BF. Hope you have been well brother.

I agree. Andy definitely likes to throw some curve balls. And I have seen some self modified knives with the guard removed.

It's possibly A2 with shallow spalting... but most likely 01 the way the spalting looks.
Bloodwood scales.
Convex primary with convex secondary bevel.

Fiddleback Outpost I got in touch with the owner and told him I accept the trade. Not the greatest fan on convex due to sharpening issues and decreased slicing ability of some thick convex grinds, but this looks like a thinly ground knife. So, it should be a good working knife.
