As of January 2015 I am closing my modifying books while I focus full time on knife making. Thank you all for the support.

I can do a bunch of different finishes, handles, scales, clips etc. Feel free to contact me if there is something you would like to have done to your tool.

neat, I would love to see a TG done this way, apocalypse finish :)

Glad you guys like it. Im trying my best to capture the look but my photography sucks.

Im also making some green/black g10 scales for this one. I think it will go nicely with the finish.

The process:

Remove the scales
Remove the coating
Even up the finish. This step is important. The best way to do it is to sand blast it. I dont have a sandblaster (yet) so I simply (or not) give it a satin finish.
Clean the blade with alcohol/acetone
Bathe in Ferric Choloride solution until you get the desired look. Im still messing around with the ratios.
Stonewash
Reapply scales

Voila! Sounds simple right.... :D:thumbup:

Have you tried with a dbl.cut Busse ?

Jball, that looks really good! How long did u let it sit in the solution and what ratio did you use on this particular blade?

Thanks for the pics! Job well done:thumbup:

Not yet but I have heard that double cut is essentially bead blast so I should be able to do it without problems.

I could always experiment under the scales at first and if all goes well move on to the whole blade.

That is awesome! The stone wash is the hard part, the equipment is not cheap if you go good. I have or had, not sure, a rock tumbler for jewelry tumbling but it wasn't near big enough for a knife. I need to look for that thing!

That looks awesome! I've been meaning to try that just haven't gotten around to it and was curious what it would look like. It's really dark, did you PCB Etch?

Freaking awesome looking. Beat on it and post more pics. I'm interested on how it looks with some milage under it's belt.
