Knife store in LA or OC

Ross Cutlery is good. Also Martin B Retting in Culver City has a nice selection of production and custom knives. For that matter every Turner's Outdoorsman I've been in has a decent selection of production knives.

turners is pretty much a rip-off for knives.

selection for knives at turners is not good either. their vendor relations seem to suck too.

i bought a spyderco urban at recon cutlery about a month aga , and they gave me a discount for being a forumite :)

The Stockade in Westminster has a nice selection of knives. No where near as many as Plaza Cutlery, but 10 times what Turners has. The prices were reasonable for a gun store.

Advance Cutlery charges you full MSRP on all knives....that is why most of them have closed. Why would anyone pay $85 +tax for a Benchmade 550HG when you can get it for around $68 with shipping off the internet.

Plaza Cutlery is the place to go for your knife needs, both production and custom.

Based on my two trips to Plaza Cutlery, I noticed their prices appear to be MSRP as well. That same Grippy mentioned above is almost certainly $85 there.

I went to Plaza Cutlery yesterday and Russ is a really nice guy. I know I could have found a Case Cheetah Cub for less online but I got to handle each knife, see how matched the scales were, feel how smooth it was, how it locked up, how centered the blade was. In the end it was worth it to me and I took one home. YMMV

I'll vouch for Russ and Plaza Cutlery in general.
The problem is that they have too many nice customs I can't afford.
The prices (on the customs, at least) seemed OK, given my limited knowledge of these.

I dropped by Plaza Cutlery on Sat. with 65535. They always have a huge selection.

Their prices are usually about 10% below MSRP which can't compete with internet prices, but their customer service is awesome. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.

If you want to handle Sebenza's, Strider's, BM's, Spydie's.....go there!
