This Bold Jumping spider has the same color jaws as the Manix does. Sadly, he was fatally injured accidentally while hunting in the garden. But he sure was a big one.

Out for a walk this morning, braving the blackflies and mosquitoes and deer flies, and saw this little guy making his way to the pond. We had a painted turtle nest hatch last night...so I decided to be his “protector” until he made the water. Operation “Splashdown” complete.

Friggin deerfly are the worst... Suckers take a visible chunk of flesh.out of you and boy you know it when it happens!!! And I personally swell up to a baseball at the scene of the crime.. They're like damn attack helicopters circling your head while you walk...
Thankfully most.of the black flies are done here in the Adirondacks and my ears, nose & mouth can remain mostly bug free------till next May that is!!!!!

Not sure what this bug is, but it looks like it might be carrying some type of egg sacs.
