Hey, Blade Forums
I was wondering how you guys carry both a phone and a knife. To me feels like you have to carry both a phone and knife in the right pocket, but the problem is the knife is gonna scratch no the phone. And if you put your knife in your left pocket, then it feels cumbersome to deploy.
Anyways, how do you guys carry your phones with knives?

I always carry a phone on my left side because I've been carrying a gun on the right since before I carried a phone.

I'm right handed but I actually carry my phone in my left pocket. Not sure why I started doing that, but I'm so used to it now I don't even think twice. However, it's probably moot since I carry a flashlight in the left pocket too...so my phone gets scratched anyway :)

Some people carry their knife in their right rear pocket for this reason. I personally find it uncomfortable to sit on my knife.

I'd say your best solution is probably just make peace with the fact that both your knife and your phone are gonna get a little scuffed no matter what.

I've also carried my phone in my left pocket since I've been carrying a phone. Probably because I've been carrying a knife in my right pocket since before I starting carrying a phone.

I just stuff both of them in the same right pocket. I have a blackberry so I'm not too concerned about scratches. Left pocket usually holds keys, which scratch up a phone faster than a knife.

Emerson CQC-8 in my right front pocket.
Victorinox Alox Cadet in my left front pocket.
Saddleback Leather Front Pocket ID Wallet in my left front pocket (or shirt pocket if I'm driving).
iPhone 6 Plus in back right pocket - It comes out of my pocket every time I sit down

Do what works best. Do it often.

I carry a wallet in the left pocket, a phone in the right pocket, and a knife in the back right pocket.

Right front pocket=knife
Right rear pocket=other knife
Left front pocket=pen
Left rear pocket=phone in Spigen case

The only thing that has changed in recent years is the addition of a pen and my phone. I've been carrying two knives like this since I've owned two knives...about 30 years ago:D

A few years back I had a SAK and phone in the same pocket- I'll never do that again. The SAK shattered the screen. Now the phone is ALWAYS solo in the left pocket no matter what I'm wearing shorts/pants. I like to stick with a routines and having items in the same pockets produces comfortable habits.

It somewhat depends on the size of the knife you are carrying but IWB (inside waistband) is a great choice if you're not constantly using your knife but need/want to carry. It fees up space in your pockets and you rarely feel it is there once you determine the best carry spots for your body type and knife size. Although the small of your back is a good place to start. An underrated and great carry location in my opinion.

Loose change, Kershaw K-tool, other miscellaneous things in left front pocket
Phone in left back pocket
Folder clipped to right front pocket (traditional dropped in same pocket)
Wallet in right back pocket

Cargo pants and other styles of tactical/duty pants are the answer guys. Plenty of pockets for all your EDC goodness.

Knife in left pocket and Phone in right pocket ~ Pistol on Belt right side and Wallet in left rear Pocket and notes and Misc.
in my right rear Pocket.! Whew.***

Phone in front left pocket.
Knife (BM 531 today)clipped into front right pocket. Always tip up blade facing away toward pocket edge/seam for safety.
Wallet back left.
Other rear pocket usually empty.
Keys either on carabiner clipped to belt-loop or in front right pocket.

Modern knife in right front pocket, traditional in left front pocket....depending on what I'm doing, I might have a fixed blade in the right rear pocket (only occasionally will I leave my regular carries home just because I grab a fixed blade). If I'm wearing cargo pants/shorts, I might put the phone in a leg pocket.
Honestly, I'm much more likely to be without a phone than my knife.

Knife in left front, knife in right front, phone in left front, keys in right front, wallet in either right front (when wearing summer basketball shorts) or left cargo (above the knee, with cargo pants.

I have a nice case on my phone, so no worries about scratching the phone. If you're worried about scratching a phone in general, the best thing to do is just get a nice case to keep it from happening from anything.

Like many who have already replied...phone in left pocket...often i carry 2 phones...the second one goes on the belt in a case...

Although...the phone in left pocked started for me with smartphones with larger screens...because when wearing jeans, the buttons on the little pocket, used to be my Zippo pocket...would scratch the phone...

On the negative side though..my car key with a SAK Alox Cadet goes in the right pocket, along with the knife...

When carrying a knife i don't want scratched up...i use the Benchmade sheaths...they are awesome...fairly cheap, don't stand out as much as most leather sheaths for folders, and you can put them vertical or horizontal on your belt....
