So I dont know if this is the place to gripe about this but if it ain't, I'm sorry. I'll take whatever licks or if mods wanna move it or whatevs.

I naively ordered a "self defense item" from the website knockoutknucks.com

I feel this is pertinent to here because I know there is crossover between the knife community and people who also purchase other self defense items.

I received a thank you email from the proprietor, Jason. A form email, to be sure. He thanked me for my order. I replied to the email to say no problem and thanks for the email. That email got bounced back: Jason's email does not exist. Yikes.

Now I did all of the research my retarded ass should have done in the first place. Knockout Knucks has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. Their Facebook page visitor posts are person after person saying "where's my order " and threatening legal action.

I'll never get my self defense tool. Lol. But be advised, all ye who may be as dumb as me: steer clear of knockout knucks. Confirmed scam.

I'm not here to debate the "faddishness" of knuckle dusters which have been in existence for 100 years or how they are employed. That's prac tac stuff, and is off topic. The topic is the website which is a scam.

Payment wasnt via PayPal it was a one time charge of 23 dollars which I have disputed with visa.

You don't need to dispute it with Visa, payal will refund you. Just call PayPal, they have buyer protection that is pretty damn fool proof.

your good. credit card will back charge vendor and refund you.

good info, Sir. thanks for the heads up.

k nucks are a scam in general. Don't fall for it. It's just going to be a worthless paper weight.

Thanks for posting the heads-up about the site.

I am not sure what the nay-saying about knucks has to do with the conversation, especially considering they offer other items including knives. Did any of you nay-sayers even bother to check the site?

Decent knucks can be a viable option for self defense if you have nothing better. I mean like the 1-2 finger "key ring" type because a full set is likely illegal anywhere. My Grampa had a set of iron ones in his tool box, but he was a railroad worker in the 30's during the strikes and such. They were little compared to what you'd expect nowdays, I guess folks didnt have fat hands then? Quite a bit of rust too where the enamel had worn off. He never would give a straight answer as to whether he had used them or not.

Just a heads up, at least in California, there is no legal distinction between a full set of knuckles and a single or two finger knuck.

Do some companies not have a "Do not reply" type of email system? Sends confirmation, but does not accept reply mail?
