I forge this with two different high carbon steels (15N20 and 1084) with a bit of damascus along the spine
I heat treat in my shop with a digitally controlled oven to reach a hardness of Rc 58-60 for edge holding and a fine grain structure for toughness.

The blade is about 1/16 inch thick at the index finger and distal tapers to the tip
Depth of the blade at the index finger is 1 1/4 inch
The handle is professionally stabilized spalted maple. Dishwater safe but never in the dishwasher!
Overall length is 11 inches with a 6 inch blade
