I received the following from Chris Michele who was the lobbyist AKTI used for the Dirk and Dagger stuff and the One hand/non-switchblade stuff in california.
February 21 was the deadline to introduce new bills for the 2003 Legislative Session here in California. Over 2,700 bills were introduced by the Senate and Assembly. I have reviewed all bills. Only four of them mention one of the knife statutes. However, none would amend the actual knife laws because the bills deal with probation violations, maintenance of the codes, etc. Obviously, I will continue to monitor all amendments to legislation to see if any proposed knife law changes are introduced. The scheduled adjournment date is September 12. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about knife laws in California.
