Let's see your GEC #23's, 73's, 83's and 72's

Washington state law doesn't set limits on knife blade lengths, individual jurisdictions do.

Indeed. I'm reasonably well acquainted with Washington criminal law. I'm a defense attorney who practices in Washington. It is not the blade length. Those two lovely knives are automatics. Which I would not be able to carry.

Same with butterfly knives, whish I also love.

Technically there is a catch all "any weapon apparently capable of producing serious bodily harm" part of the statute which officers use to add on weapons charges. I've seen box cutters, screw drivers, etc added on under this statute. But that's taking the conversation a bit off topic.

I carry 23's all the time, and without much concern that an officer would have a problem with them. But under a literal reading of the statute, they could.

I'd like to see the law change.

There's been a lot of awesome knives pictures guys!! I'm loving it:)

I wish I knew ^^^^
I hope it's soon though! I'm buying a stag and cocobolo 73 when they get released.

Ah, I thought you were referring to #23's & #73's; my bad. Only law enforcement and active military can own and carry auto knives, correct? They don't do much for me, but they are cool for just being what they are. A good assisted opener is just as fast anyway.

Meako is that paintbrush a #42? If so how do you like it?

Also Rescue workers like fire and ambulance/paramedics are exempt.

The autos by GEC really are too cool.

Just something so old timer-neat about them.

Just received my first 73 today, really liking this one!

I see more 73's in my future :)

I'm sitting back waiting on my ebony Northfield 73 to arrive. This forum is killing my bank account.

Here's a 73 that was a 2012 Collectorknives SFO. It's called the Farmer and notice the lanyard hole. I bought one when it was first available, sold it but shouldn't have, saw this one on the exchange and bought it. Handles are Indian Paintbrush. The blade is a spey.

07 Tidioute 73 chocolate bone. My knife buddy at work has the most beautiful single blade burnt grizzly bone NF 73. I think the 23s and 73s make for great work knives as well as outdoor knives!

Wasn't the chocolate bone very limited? maybe 5 or 10 in the 73 or 23?

What is that on the bolster?
It is the release mechanism. Those are GEC autos.

They haunt me! I'm always wishing I had one, and could carry it. I have had opportunities to buy them, but have been able to resist, because I can buy a lot more slipjoints for the price, and I can carry those.

If WA changes the rules on autos, I'll have to get one!

Is that a hand rubbed satin put on by yourself? Usually not a fan of spey blades but for this knife with that outstanding red it just works and works. A beauty.

Yep, the release mechanism. Push it up to fire the blade and also to release the lock so you can close it.
