From 2017, this #81, a brother of the City Stock, but with two springs, and a larger secondary; here is a Moose for ogling pleasure!!View attachment 2890849
Nice jigged greenbone!!
The Moose pattern is pretty traditional - I wonder when it was invented???
The moose pattern has always been a favorite of mine,I'm somewhat swayed being a Moose hunter but it's more of the clip-spear combination, able to satisfy both the spear and clip fans in one bundle.would like to see some pictures of the 66 moose they have proven to be an elusive moose species, are they extinct? From 2017, this #81, a brother of the City Stock, but with two springs, and a larger secondary; here is a Moose for ogling pleasure!!View attachment 2890849

Yes I believe only those 2 years had the 66 moose and not that many were produced,I have kept my eyes open(except when asleep)for one to pop up to no avail, but moose like to come out at night so maybe it is while I'm asleep they have shown up for sale or trade.View attachment 2890902
The Bullwinkle in this picture (top) goes back to 2011 if I remember!!
GEC also made some in 2012!! I don't know about any since then???
Nice herd!!!View attachment 289104054,81,blackbox moose
So was it called the moose back then as well,it looks like the muskrat which leads me to wonder whether the moose or muskrat pattern was named first.that ward is a great looking knife in really good conditionNice herd!!!
Since we are talking about the venerable Moose, here's an interesting one, made for Montgomery Ward!!! Back a few years!!View attachment 2891091View attachment 2891092View attachment 2891093
Montgomery Ward opened as mail order retailer in 1872. they opened as a department store some time later, but are now only online!!
I don't *think* (??) the secondary was reprofiled into a clip. But, it definitely has a different shape than the primary clip...So was it called the moose back then as well,it looks like the muskrat which leads me to wonder whether the moose or muskrat pattern was named first.that ward is a great looking knife in really good condition
