Life/Knife Hacks

I haven't come across a thread of this sort yet. Doesn't mean there have not been some already posted/discussed, but I'd like to see some cool ideas anyone has or has come up with. Kind of life hack sorta things that involve knives, edc gear, survival situations, outdoor activities and such. This one just came to me the other day. Had an old car stereo detachable faceplate case lying around that I wasn't using, so I cut a sponge to fit, saturated it with some oil, and SHAZAM! I had a cool, less messy, way of keeping my blades oiled. Just swipe em across the sponge then seal up the case when I'm done.



So anyone out there come up with any clever/cool ideas?

Here a knife hack. A Ka-Bar I modded more than twenty years ago to have a clinometer to measure height of trees and other obstacles when laying in helicopter LZs.

This knife was MIA for a few years. Thought I had lost it. My wife and I cleaned out the garage last weekend, and I found it.
