Lock Back vertical play under pressure?

Hey guys I know this has been brought up some. I did use the search function and have read up on it. I have an Endura 4 just got it brand new out of the box. It has zero side to side that I can detect. Vertical there is some if I apply a decent amount of force. If I wiggle the blade up and down on top of the spydie hole I cant really detect vertical play, I can however detect the slightest amount when I wiggle it from the tip. Is this normal or should it still not have play even under these circumstances.

The search should have indicated that this is normal to some extent in some lock backs ;)
The lock is strong enought o handle any daily tasks you might have. If you require more then grab a fixed blade.

Yah it did reveal that but then I heard of people saying I have one with zero play either way. Anyway I love the knife already makes me want another for whatever reason lol .

Lies I tell you. They all have some form of play (traditional back/mid locks). Kind of self adjusting.

I know there are some who swear that blade play of any kind is pure evil. But IMO, I don't think slight blade play detrimentally effects a knifes performance whatsoever. :)

I agree, as long as you can remember that you are supposed to cut things with the sharp side. Some people can't seem to get past that part though. ;)

Must be why it's taking me 3-5 minutes to open packages.....:D

My Endura has this, as well as a Kabar lockback I have. I know it doesn't really affect anything, but I still find it very annoying. Which is why they both are usually found in the drawer rather than in my pocket.

thats what you have to deal with when playing with lock back knife...
my kabar dozier had no blade play when I first got it, after a few days playing, flicking the blade out, it started wiggling...
And now I know how to prevent or delay the blade playing in a lock back...just use it, don't flick it

Not all lockbacks have this. The triad lock has no play in any direction OOB.

actually lock back is not back lock.
well it's on the spine, but it has a stop pin and it's self-adjustable, to the best of my knowledge, triad lock doesn't work in the same way as the back lock. As usual, the pivot pin on the lockin' bar is the thing that take all the pressure, both on the spine and on the edge pressure.
but in a triad lock, the stop pin is the thing that takes all the pressures. And once a gain, it's self-adjustable, basically it's not a back lock, it's some kinda compression lock.
