Longmire's Case XX

Carl, I pray for a speedy recovery for you as well! I've been meaning to read some of the Longmire novels, and hearing about his old Case trapper makes me want to do so all the more! I know what you mean about the old guys down here in Texas...more of my friends and acquaintances carry Case Trappers than any other knife. While I'm not wearing my belt pouch for mine today, I still am carrying my yellow-handled CV Trapper with the modified spey blade (it's now a wharncliffe...find it more useful!) in my pocket...of course, at the tender age of 64, I guess I AM one of the "old guys!"

Well you've got some good books to keep you company at least! I'm about 4 or 5 books into the series and they're pretty addictive, and I love the TV show too, even though they make Walt a little studlier, and Vic a tall blonde contrary to Johnson's descriptions, but who's complaining? ;). I'm going to have to go back and re-read for the knife references now! All the best for a speedy recovery!

So, one week post-op, and saw the doc today for follow up. All looks like it's healing up and I can now put weight on foot standing flat, but he doesn't want me to flex it walking yet. I see him in another week. Meanwhile I worked my way through another Longmire book, The Highwayman, and on page 59 Walt is sitting in front of the motel with his faithful Indian companion, Henry, and he is using what he calls his "old Case Russlock" to eat an apple.

So far, that's one bone handle trapper, one Case XX pocket knife, and now a Russlock. Does this mean Sheriff Walt is maybe a knife nut, and has a small collection of differing Case knives?

Does Craig Johnson carry a Case?

Inquiring minds are wondering.
 
Heal up well! And in the show, Walt carried that Buck in bis watch pocket, sticking straight up....

I've really enjoyed watching the TV series and imagine I will enjoy the books. I'm adding them to my list. And of course he carries a Case knife. That's just reasonable that he would. :)
