Thanks , I actually have fixed. the problem by adjusting the pivot screw ( it was very loose.) I then used blue loctite on pivot screw and readjusted tension.
Now I will let the knife remain unused for a few days while blue lactate sets up. Hopefully the screws will not loosen up so easily in future.

Hypothetically ! if someone were to disassemble. and then reassemble their Osborne 9400 would they invalidate warranty?

Hypothetically yes, this would invalidate your warranty.
