Magnacut 119

true there also. although I feel the pro is a bit pricey too compared to the standard. I don't really want to focus on pricing though as we all know everything has gotten much pricier last couple years.......
That's true about prices... a visit to do grocery shopping and gas up the car, they need to have a paramedic on duty to resuscitate after you see how much you need to pay at checkout, especially here in California.

Given the percentages of how much other thing have skyrocketed, I think Buck is holding the line fairly well, considering a full tank of gas (in California) costs more than a Vanguard or a 110 folder.

I'm in Cali right now on business...it's pricey not as bad as I thought....but everywhere is gettin silly anymore...

From what I've read, Buck typically hardens their knives to 58-60, but in reading up on this steel it seems like a little more is in order, 61-63 maybe? Is that right and is there any way to find out?

Still trying to learn more about all this, steel seems a lot more complicated these days than it was 50 years ago when I got my first Buck.

I'm so very tempted by this. I managed to get the 110 Magnacut (awesome) and the 119 3v BOTM (very nice). I use the 110 regularly. I have several 119s including the Pro, Heritage and standard that I really like and use. The 3V BOTM hasn't gotten a chance yet. Like a lot of us, funds are tighter these days... still teetering on this one.

We were informed that Buck is running their magnacut at 62-63 .

Cool, thank you!

I regret not getting January's botm. But they say this botm is a new knife, so possibly pricey... a month out from Christmas. I'm torn.

I got that 3V blade, but still haven't used it, it came seriously sharp, gonna be my hunting knife this year so we'll see how it holds up, I do love tough carbon steel.

Oh crap, my bad, went to Buck's site first thing this morning, link to the knife was still on the front page so I clicked it and it said that page no longer existed, so I figured they were gone. I went back just now and it's back up again. Sorry about that.

I almost pulled the trigger. Back to my deep thinking and contemplation what to do. I have the 3V and it's great. Do I need another just like it? Don't answer. lol

I hear ya, had the same thoughts myself....problem is my wife is complicit, she's the real knife afficionado in this house, back when we first met a knife "collection" to me was my one big fixed blade for hunting, my everyday folder in my pocket, and a small dedicated fishing knife in my tacklebox.

She is very different, first gift she ever gave me was a knife. And yesterday, even after telling me not to look, she looked, lol, and that was that.

I vowed no more knife or gun collecting buying. it’s over. I am 70, it’s time not acquire more stuff……But I guess I had little choice. How could I pass up an magnacut 119 and not be in my 119 (and its relatives 619. 639) collection of mostly rare birds and unique variants. I would regret it, so I bought one.It will fill my last remaining display slot…..but that is it for me, finished, it was a nice ride while it lasted.
