Man vs wild

Or he might give a dirty water enema and drink it's pee pee. :D

The horror... One thing is for sure the Bear haters feel stronger about their opinion more than the Bear lovers. Being new to the forum I am not sure what side to pick. One one hand I do like to watch his show and on the other I hate Gerber knives and would never buy one...

Decisions...

I saw a Man vs Wild re-run this week and he had hs old hard core black handle knife. Last week & this week's "new" episodes he was using his orange Gerber POS. Sorry Gerber lovers, just my humble opinion :)

i don't think any average person can pull off what bear does in a survival situation....it requires you alot of knowledge about animals and plants....not to say its also very risky lol....i would only do it if its a very very desperate situation.

When I first ran into his show I thought is this guy for real? So upon researching him I discovered he has some roots with the Briitish SAS.I believe he trained as an SAS reservist(didnt know that there was such a thing). My point is we all know he does crazy shit.Cant see the average survival dude doing that stuff with out some sort of military training.I gained a bit more respect for him knowing he has some roots in the best special forces unit in the world.

I quote.

Edward Michael Grylls, known to the public as Bear Grylls, is a prominent British author, television presenter and motivational speaker that is best known for his work with the Discovery Channel series Man V. Wild: Born Survivor as well as the series Escape to the Legion. His television work is well known in both the United Kingdom and the United States, both for his series and for some work in commercials. Here is some background on Bear Grylls and his career as one of the modern British outdoorsmen.

Grylls was born on 7 June 1974 and is the son of the late Sir Michael Grylls, a prominent member of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom. Educated at Eton College, Grylls also attended London University, where he studied for a degree in Hispanic Studies. A veteran of the United Kingdom Special forces, Bear Grylls served as a member of the SAS TA as a Sabre soldier. His military career was cut short in 1996 after an accident left him with a broken spine. During his time in the Special Forces, Grylls received training in a variety of disciplines, among them desert and winter warfare, parachuting, climbing, explosives technology, and combat survival. The skills that Bear Grylls developed during this time helped to prepare him for his later work as an explorer and adventurer.

This explains alot about his abilities, I little crazy at times, none the less, a very capable dude.
