I know that a double-edged disposable blade razor is not as interesting as the straight razors, but thought I may be able to get some feed back here. My old, original Gillette is wearing out after 30 years of service. I was thinking about upgrading to a MERKUR razor. How is the quality of these? I bought some Merkur double edge blades one time and found them no better or a little inferior to the cheap SS blades from Krogers. What about the FEATHER brand blades? Thanks guys! I would love to "upgrade" to a straight razor, but am not sure I have the patience to learn to use it properly.... I have an old razor I bought art a flea market years ago for nothing. It is a horn handles one, has what appears to be a shel or bone spacer at the end of the handle, marked Geneva, NY. You can get it sharp enough to shave all right, but it holds an edge for one swipe across your cheek, and then its too dull to use. :thumbdn:
