Gorgeous! I'm really considering getting one. I know already what Buck's CPM154 is worth and dig burlap micarta! :)

Thank you mon ami. I dig micarta too! For me the coarser the base fabric the better. Which places Burlap at the top IMO.
Buck's lockbacks are as good as lockbacks get! No blade play or sticky releases... they simply work. The F&F on the 501 that I have is... perfect. The burlap micarta is as you say, "magnifique". The 501 is 95mm long but quite thin which makes it easily pocket-able. Still, I'd really appreciate it if Buck or SK Blades would build a barehead 503 in burlap micarta as well.
If I may be so presumptuous to say, it's possible that Buck lockbacks are in America what the Laguiole is in France. If you were to pick one up it's highly unlikely you'd ever have any regrets.

Buck is very popular in France and even not knife-biased people think Buck when talking of a lockback. I agree a 503 with the same characteristics would be near perfection.
