Military, Paramilitary 2, or Manix XL?

The Para 2 is a great size and I love the Compression Lock. But, if blade length isn't an issue, I'd probably carry the Military.

Since you said big folder, Military, If more is not always better then the PM2 is a better knife in almost every way though.

As long as you are tossing out different models, I'll toss my EDC into the mix, the Gayle Bradley. I have had all three you mentioned and think the Gayle Bradley bests them all. Just my two cents. Here is a great Spyderco video about this great knife if you are not familiar with it. Gayle Bradley talks about what he was looking for in the design. Also, the price is about half of what it really should go for in my opinion.

My second choice is my pimped Millie, a very well made knife.

Which big Spyderco folder? Thats an easy one. Military...all day long. Great blade, great handle, one of Spyderco's all time classics. And it absolutely disappears in the pocket for a big knife.

Agree 100%. Especially the Ti Framelock models.

A year ago when I was wearing more cargos I would have said the Manix XL -- love the big leaf blades. Been wearing more climbing jeans lately, though, and as pocket space has shrunk, so has my knife choice. Been on a steady diet of Para 2 for the last month.

I have the para 2 and the manix 2 xl.Both are superior but one is EPIC for EDC...the other is not.The Para 2 is probably one of the best EDC knives ever conceived. The excellent steel, light weight and peerless handling combine to produce a blade one MUST own if one is an enthusiast. It is that good. The manix is a pocket hog but it is great for back pocket jeans carry because it is so thin.It is a big beefy blade that seems to me to be well prepared for heavier tasks. It deploys very fast but is not that easy to close one handed. The Para 2 is much better in the handling dept...but then again it is world class excellent in that regard.

I wish I could comment on the millie...but I am frankly a bigot when it comes to liner locks...I hate them.If they work for you I trust my fellow forum members opinion re how excellent they are.

Buy the Para 2.

Add the others later!!!!

I think you get more bang for the buck, and an aesthetically "nicer" knife with the xl Manix, but IMO the Mili and the Para are more comfortable in hand, and to carry. I would never sell, or trade any of these knives.

I keep coming back to the Paramilitary 2...it is a great knife for my purposes and the best choice out of those options in my opinion.

I carry a Manix 2 LW when I am wearing slacks I don't want scuffed, but when I want a lot of knife in my pocket...Manix 2 XL is my first choice. Smooth action, positive strong lock, and hand-filling while not wearing like a brick in my pocket.

Also, I don't trust liner locks.

I've tried a lot of spydercos, including the Manix 2 (both sizes) and several pm2s. I keep coming back to the military because it feels perfect in my hand and does everything I need.
