MiniBuck 425

I picked up one of the keychain equipped 425's the other day. Thought I would share a pic.

I recently picked up a black / blue speckled 425 (2001), and a black / silver speckled (2000) knives, both serrated. Does anyone know anything about them, model numbers etc? I haven't found them in any catalog yet.

Doesn't look like this thread has been very active over the last few months. I haven't bought any 425's recently, but I do have a blue one that I have not shared a photo of before.

I also have a photo of it next to my 525 that I carry pretty much all the time, might as well share that too :)

I was going to my VA Doc's and even though it probably was a felony I couldn't resist dropping this one in my pocket. I had a high end Custom 112 made 10 years ago and this was in the box when I got it. I love the simple dot pattern. I gave this to KathyJo and after she passed I spent hours trying to find it! It turned out to be in a TINY zippered pocket in one of dozens of her purses..20230811_214539.jpg

I think it's a different Buck model. If I remember correctly it is 524.

How about this for a sneaky stealth release... Marbled fiber carbon handled, mini Buck 425 throwback in S30v?????
Has this already happened?? I just found out about the existence of this model last week and bought a couple. They are wonderful! In this size steel doesn't really matter, but s30v is certainly very good :) Alos it would be cool to have her in Magnacut

His whole handle is like a 501 blade

Perfect size for my friend's makeup bag

They're great little knives. My first Buck as a kid back in the late 80s. I ended up going overboard as an adult and I've got one on every set of keys I own, plus a couple to keep, plus a couple for the kids.

Interestingly, all my Buck that have a backlock have a problem with the handle cutting. When I close the blade without holding it with my fingers, it hits the rear spring and crumples appear on the cutting edge. I have several 110 different years, 112, custom 501 and 425 now. On 112 this is least pronounced. Am I so unlucky? I thought that if the factory had increased the kick by 0.2-0.4 mm depending on the model, this could have been avoided. With 425 it fixes it very quickly in 10-15 minutes. I drilled a hole with a small drill, inserted it, it turned out a little higher than necessary. I took a soldering iron and pressed the drill until the tip od blade was in the right place. I cut the drill so that it was lower than both halves of the handle. Sealed the outside via soldering irons. This plastic seems to contain glass beads or something similar and does not stick to metal at all. The perfect EDC is ready

But this is what I meant, before the axle was installed, it hit the spring and this kind of nick appeared, next to 2, modified and standard. I wonder if Leroy Remer uses similar locking axles in his custom Buck or not?

Today I caught a “defective” 425. Here the mark hit a little lower than it should. This is the first time I've seen something like this

When I have this issue on a knife I just insert a little strip of leather into the blade well.
Thay fixed my problem without any modifications necessary.
Great method, a friend advised me to use glue and a piece of pencil eraser. With metal Buck (a search showed that there is a 505 model with the same blade and handle as my beloved 501, I'm so retarded ), I think it’s worth trying the method like HH Frank did, but I don’t have the necessary tools and skills yet

V-shaped piece of copper or wood so that the blade slows down only at the red points of the trajectory
